Description
Masdevallias love taking low light to medium light growing wide petal to grass like leaves. In the winter they rest and lose their leaves in order to preserve energy. Most Masdevallia come out in the spring and some even seem to have a face on it giving the Masdevallias the nickname ‘monkey face orchid’.
Masdevallia rechingeriana is a species that does something special, in which they sequentially bloom in optimal conditions simulating the spring. Each stem blooms a new flower every time the flower goes and loves doing this in cold nights (55F) and warm days (70-80F).
